These are the rules of Withered Hope. Following these rules are mandatory. Failure to do so will result in warnings, temporary bannings and even permanent bannings. Please keep that in mind.
General Rules
-No heavy swearing. The occasional swear is alright but this is a PG-13 site.
-Keep all roleplaying PG-13. You know what I mean.
-Respect the Administrators and Moderators. We spent alot of time to make this site happen.
-Please respect your fellow roleplayers. I can't stress this enough.
-Absolutely no chatspeak. i lyk h8 having 2 read ppls hu rite lyk tis because it is very annoying. That's what the c-box is for.
-Please don't spam. It's annoying, and no one appreciates it. A spam would be considered posting more than three times in a row or writing all in capital letters. There are many other types of spams though.
-This is an intermediate-advanced writing site. Please write about AT LEAST 100 words. That shouldn't be too hard. This also includes NO one-liners.
-Please make all of your avatars 100 x 100. This will keep from flooding the board.
-Don't be afraid to message the admins or mods for help. That's why we're here.
Creating your Cat
-There are rules in the "A New Life" board. Please read all of the instructions.
-Follow the code that has been provided. It will just save you alot of time.
-You can make a leader, deputy, medicine cat, warrior, senior warrior, apprentice, kit, queen and elder. Please choose wisely- you cannot change it later unless you are pushed up in ranks. No, your cat cannot decrease in age. It just isn't real.
-If you decide to make a queen please fill out the form in "First Breath". This will tell you what your kits will be like.
-Continue to follow the general rules.
-You can have a maximum of 6 cats for now unless you have been awarded more. Kits do not count until they have reached the roleplaying age of 3 moons in which you either roleplay them or put them up for adoption at that time.
-When asked to fill in the history, make it at least 100 words long. The history is also considered your RP example, so keep that in mind.
-If you are unfinished your biography then please write in the title (unfinished). Very simple, very straightforward. When you modify your post you will be able to change the title. At that time erase (unfinished) from your title. Again, very simple.
-You will not be able to roleplay your character until you are finished. You may, however, roleplay before the admins have accepted your cat. Keep in mind that you might need to modify your biography.
-There is no minimum post count for personality, description, etc. It just would grow hard. Just try to get it in the right range. The admins will definately say something if for some reason your history is a one-liner.
-This is in creating your profile, but you obviously will read this. Please make your first letter in your ursername capitalized, such as- Spot, Thunder, Fire, etc.
OOC: ((out of context))
-Follow all of the general rules.
-If you include an OOC at the bottom or top of your posts please keep it brief. An OOC does not count in your word count in the end.
-Do NOT put an OOC in a middle of a post. Ask the questions or inform later. Your fellow roleplayers will appreciate it.
-Do not post pictures that stretch the board. In fact, just use a link if it is very large. You will be asked to remove the picture if this occurs.
-If in the chat board please keep in mind the basic rules. No giving out any personal information. (phone number, adress, what city you live in, what country, your full name, etc.) You should be old enough to know this.
IC ((In context/Roleplaying))
-Once again, follow all of the general rules.
-Godmoding is not allowed. No, your tom isn't the handsomest. No, you're leader doesn't have infinate lives. No, your kits aren't flawless. Besides, it makes roleplaying more fun.
-Keep in mind that everyone gets hurt at some point.
-Power-playing is also a no-no. Don't roleplay another person's deer just because you want the thread to be longer. Be prepared for another reaction from another roleplayer. Not everyone thinks the same as you.
-Please don't repeat the same words over and over again to start a sentence. For example, you wrote "Buttercup ran through a field of flowers. She found a mouse. She ate it. She ran away." It can get a bit annoying. A more descriptive example is "Buttercup ran through a lush field of white daisies. Leaning over, she discovered a mouse in the grass. Taking a large bite she closed her eyes, enjoying the taste. Munching down one more the she-cat turned her gaze towards where she first came from. Picking up her feet she ran back towards her home". See? You even got more words out of this!
-Remember, no swearing. You can make up funny cat swears but they cannot be real ones that we use.
-If a post may be considered offensive in any way, please! Put a warning over in the title!
-No cat can be perfect. Please keep that in mind. If your cat gets in a fight they probably would have a few scars. Who knows? Maybe your cat will feel stronger with a few scars on his or her back.
Fighting:
-In a fight please keep in mind the basic rules. This only concerns to actual fights, not play fights between kits.
Please follow the following guidelines for how many attacks and dodges that you can have. I find this works the best. You keep fighting until either you or your opponent runs out of moves, you or your opponent makes their deer stop fighting or if you or your opponent do/does not reply after 5 days unless you were absent and either sent a message to the Admins or posted in the "Away" board.
-Leaders- 7 attacks, 2 dodges
-Deputies- 6 attacks, 2 dodges
-Medicine Cats- 4 attacks, 2 dodges
-Medicine Cat Apprentices- 3 attacks, 1 dodge
-Senior Warriors- 5 attacks, 2 dodges
-Warriors- 5 attacks, 1 dodge
-Apprentices- 4 attacks, 1 dodge
-Kits (please try not to fight with kits. It isn't sane)- 1 attack, 1 dodge
-Elders- 2 attacks, 1 dodge
-Queens- 3 attacks, 1 dodge
Breeding and Birthing:
-No graphic breeding or birthing. We mean it. This is a PG-13 site. If there happens to be something that might be considered offensive to other players please put a warning in the title. We will all appreciate it.
-Please only breed or give birth during the alloted time that is stated on the menu. Please keep in mind how long your cat has been pregnant. The password for the "A New Life" board is Tamarak (It is case sensitive). Normally the season changes every 2 months so please give birth during the next season (two months away from the date that your kit form is accepted)
-When deciding to have kits please post in the approptiate board. Following the rules on that board please fill out the form and the admin will decide what gender, fur color, eye color, etc. the kits will be.
-Every level of cat can have higer amounts for kits.
-Leaders- 4-5 kits
-Deputies- 2-3 kits
-Warriors- 1-2 kits
You can choose to have lower amounts of kits if you want. You can not ask for a higher number unless you have won it in the Disasters and Rewards.
